In 2024, Ofsted recognised our ongoing improvement, rating us as ‘Good’ in Leadership & Management, Behaviour & Attitudes, and Personal Development. This reflects our unwavering focus on providing a safe, respectful, and aspirational environment where students can thrive both academically and personally. In recent years, our academy has undergone significant transformation and responsiveness to the changing educational landscape. We are a forward-looking school unafraid to push boundaries, embrace new challenges, and continuously develop our practice.

As proud members of the High-Performance Learning international community, we firmly believe that every child can excel given the right culture and climate. Our inclusive and ambitious ethos is built on the belief that exceptional outcomes are possible for all. We do not just teach – we nurture, inspire, and equip young people with the skills and character they need to lead successful lives and contribute positively to society.

Leeds East Academy is part of White Rose Academies Trust, a local trust dedicated to raising aspirations and unlocking the potential of young people across Leeds. Together, we are committed to delivering a world-class education and creating life-changing opportunities for all.

Role:

As part of the Inclusion team, the Bridge Manager will be responsible for cultivating and promoting lasting change within the school community, while also supporting the wider development of the Academy’s inclusive practices. This includes working with key students who require additional academic support through internal provisions.

The Bridge is a new and strategic provision being introduced at Leeds East Academy as an extension of the school’s Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Inclusion offer. It aims to further develop the infrastructure of inclusion by providing a structured, nurturing environment for learners who are working significantly below age-related expectations and struggle to access mainstream lessons. Many of these students present with Cognition and Learning needs, alongside some Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, requiring a more tailored and flexible approach to their education.

The post holder will coordinate the personalised learning of vulnerable students, taking into account their starting points and ensuring that their learning, progress, welfare, and personal development are at the heart of the provision. The Bridge will primarily support students within Key Stage 3, offering a focused intervention space that acts as a middle layer between mainstream targeted support and the more intensive internal alternative provision.

Part of White Rose Academies Trust - Leeds East Academy is accelerating on a thrilling journey, which will ultimately see the school, its staff and its students, secure continued strides for the school and the community that it serves.

We are securing our vision for World Class by growing our family of exceptional education professionals; dedicated specialists and passionate leaders with the shared goal of transforming future prospects for the next generation in West Yorkshire.

The trust currently employs over 500 members of staff and is responsible for educating and developing almost 4,000 students between the ages of 3 to 16. The trust consists of three secondary schools - Leeds City Academy, Leeds East Academy and Leeds West Academy, and also welcomed its first primary school Alder Tree Primary Academy on 1st December 2020.

We believe the trust is a highly desirable place of work for an ambitious professional, who will be joining one of the most supportive and talented teams in the country.
