Learning Support and Care Assistant

Grade: B3 £24,294 - £25,979 (Actual salary £18,917 to £20,230)  

Hours: 33.5 hours per week, term time only plus 5 days 

Accountable to: SENCo/Assistant SENDCo 

 

This is an extremely exciting time to be joining Leeds City Academy, one of the most rapidly improving schools within the Leeds area and county of West Yorkshire. The academy had a Section 5 Inspection in May 2019 achieving an overall Good judgement with Leadership and Management judged as Outstanding.

Role: 

 

You will complement and support the role of teachers and other professionals by undertaking work/care/support programmes which enables access to learning in and out of the classroom for all students of all abilities.  

 

You will also support the SEND department in the management of students, with a range of teaching and learning experiences which deliver an appropriately differentiated and suitably challenging creative curriculum for all students whilst meeting statutory requirements. 

 

You will be responsible for the accelerated progress of our students, ensuring that they can access the curriculum we offer through regular support.  

 

You may, from time to time be required to undertake other duties commensurate with the grade and level of responsibility defined in this job description.
