Steve was born in Wetherby, near Leeds, and is married with three sons; all of whom have just completed their MSc degrees.

 

Steve joined Leeds West Academy in the summer of 2011, after working for Post Office Ltd for 38 years. He started at the Post Office as a counter clerk in Wetherby and worked his way up to roles including Regional Audit Manager and Regional Management Accountant.

 

During this time, Steve continued his studies at Leeds City College passing his Association of Accounting Technicians exams with an overall distinction.

 

Since joining Leeds West Academy, Steve has assisted with the integration of Leeds East and Leeds City academies into the sponsors system. In 2014 Steve became the Finance Manager for the White Rose Academies Trust and worked closely with the Chief Financial Officer in reconciling the transfer of accounts from one financial system to another.

 

Outside of work, Steve is a keen sportsman having played local football and cricket. He is the treasurer at a local sports club and has recently overseen the total rebuild of the clubhouse in a project that cost £350k.
